Message from Tent President, Norma Overton - May 3, 2024

As most of you Sisters know,  I have been in and out of Metro Hospital and doctors for the last 6 weeks; good thing they have revolving doors.    Hopefully, I am on my way back.

I wanted to thank Sister Shelley Brinker, Junior Vice President, for stepping up and chairing the April meeting, as well as Sister Wenda Fore,  Wenda wears so many hats I don’t remember all .

At the April meeting a vote was taken to NOT have the usual Eva Gray Tent meeting scheduled for 2nd Weds.  (May 8) at Marges Donuts because we were meeting to do the graves at Oak Hill Cemetery and place the Veteran Flags on both our Civil War Soldiers and the Spanish American graves at A. B. Watson and Custer.  Date chosen is May 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.   For any new Sisters that are going we meet in the parking lot by the Office.   After the planting and watering we will finish off with lunch at Russ’ Restaurant where we ate last year.  It seems to be the closest restaurant.  A SHORT meeting to discuss the logistics for the Memorial Day Parade in downtown Grand Rapids the following week.   Again, for our new members, it’s okay to wear jeans, sweatshirts, small hand spades/gloves .

Hope to see all Sister there including myself MAY 23, 2024, 10:30 AM BY THE MAIN OFFICE.   IF YOU HAVE A gallon MILK CARTON BRING IT ALONG TO WATER PLANTS ETC.
